Creative on the ASOS x Levi’s 501 campaign, May 2021

The concept: That 501 Feeling

Retranslating Levi’s 501 – aka fashion’s most iconic jean – for a Gen-Z audience in a time of post-lockdown optimism, inspiring the ASOS customer to rethink their approach to waist-down dressing as a sign of better things to come,

We recruited five talent who individually brought their sense of style and spirit to the product and collectively communicated the universality of the silhouette, creating a series of stills, videos and social activations that celebrate the power move of pulling on the perfect pair of jeans – made all the more relevant in a time where restrictions were lifting.

The concept: Name a more iconic duo

Topshop and Topman launching at ASOS was always going to be a big moment, so we wanted to create a campaign that celebrates the coming together of two fashion powerhouses, shining a spotlight on the strength of collaboration.

The campaign featured:

– A party-themed stills shoot, celebrating the event of the year
– WhatsApp conversation on Instagram Stories between ASOS and Topshop/Topman
– A podcast miniseries, ‘Twinning is Winning’, co-hosted by two figureheads from the worlds of ASOS and Topshop, with each episode asking duos ‘how has your plus-one has been the making of you?’

Translate BaByliss’ styling expertise in a way that will excite, engage and resonate with the ASOS customer.

Taking our cue from the ‘90s nostalgia that has pervaded modern-day pop culture, we set out to celebrate the brand as the icon it is with a suite of stills imagery that had poster-girl status along with a ‘Hair Stories’ video series, featuring influencers recalling their favourite style moments, past and present, with BaByliss at the heart of it all.
